Il tracciato di intu-Xanadù Arroyomolinos ospita il GP di Spagna, nono round del mondiale motocross. Adamo chiude settimo di giornata in MX2; Forato si classifica decimo nella classe regina.

Dopo il GP d’Italia e il GP di Sardegna, il FIM Motocross World Championship si sposta in Spagna dove sul tracciato di intu-Xanadù Arroyomolinos, va in scena il nono appuntamento stagionale.
Situato a pochi chilometri dalla città di Madrid, il tracciato spagnolo si sviluppa in piano, con pochissimi dislivelli ma al contempo, tantissime asperità artificiali come doppi e tripli salti, wave e sezioni ritmiche. Il fondo, costituito principalmente da argilla, risulta duro e compatto con canali altrettanto duri e insidiosi.
Per l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery, il sabato mattina inizia con il 18° tempo di Andrea Adamo #80 nelle libere della classe MX2 e il 7° tempo di Alberto Forato #303 in quelle della MXGP. La mattina prosegue poi con le cronometrate: Andrea migliora notevolmente la sua prestazione chiudendo 8°; altrettanto bene fa Alberto che completa la sessione come 6°.
Nella manche di qualifica della MX2, Adamo è fuori della ‘top 10’ dopo la partenza e le tredici tornata di gara servono al siciliano per rimontare sino all’8° posto. In MXGP, anche per Alberto l’avvio è fuori dalla ‘top 10’ ma il veneto riesce a rimontare e conquistare il 10° posto finale.
Domenica il tracciato viene fresato e abbondantemente irrigato quando i ragazzi della MX2 fanno il loro ingresso in pista per disputare gara 1. Andrea azzecca una discreta partenza che gli consegna subito la 10a posizione. Nelle prime tornate il siciliano guadagna rapidamente terreno sugli avversari sino a portarsi in 8a posizione ma dal quarto giro in poi, la sua rimonta subisce uno ‘stop’. A fine manche si classifica di fatto 8°. La seconda manche vede Adamo curvare tra gli ultimi dopo aver evitato alcuni piloti caduti ma un sensazionale ‘primo giro’ lo posiziona 11° al termine del giro iniziale. Nelle successive tornate il siciliano prosegue nella sua caparbia rimonta sino a classificarsi 6°. Nella seconda parte di gara, una guida attenta gli permette di tenere la posizione sino alla bandiera a scacchi. Grazie ai due piazzamenti odierni, Andrea si classifica 7° di giornata ed in campionato, guadagna una posizione portandosi in 6a piazza.
La prima manche di Alberto è pressoché simile a quella del suo compagno di squadra. Dopo una discreta partenza che lo proietta subito all’interno della ‘top 10’, il veneto conduce una gara regolare e tra sorpassi effettuati e sorpassi subiti, centra il 7° posto. L’avvio di gara 2, vede Alberto cominciare la sua rimonta verso la parte alta della classifica dal 14° posto, dopo una partenza non proprio perfetta. A differenze della prima frazione però, il veneto non riesce ad essere molto incisivo nell’avanzare complice anche un tracciato più segnato con canali duri e insidiosi. A fine manche, Forato si conferma 12°. A seguito del punteggio acquisito nelle due manche, si ritrova 10° di giornata e conserva l’11° posto in classifica generale
Senza weekend di sosta, il FIM Motocross World Championship si sposta sul tracciato francese di Erneé dove nel primo weekend di giugno si terrà il GP di Francia, decimo round stagionale.

Intu-Xanadù Arroyomolinos circuit hosted the GP of Spain, ninth round of the Motocross World Championship. Adamo finished 7th Overall in MX2; Forato ranked 10th in the Top Class.
After the GP of Italy and the GP of Sardinia, FIM Motocross World Championship moved to Spain, at the intu-Xanadù Arroyomolinos, where the ninth round of the season took place.
The track is located a few kilometers out of Madrid and it is featured by a very few differences in height but a lot of artificial bumps, like double and triple jumps, waves and rhythmical sections. The surface, which is mainly made by clay, is hard and compact, with hard and insidious ruts.
SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery started its Saturday morning with the 18th fastest lap time of Andrea Adamo #80 in MX2 Free Practice and the 7th of Alberto Forato #303 in the MXGP. The morning then continued with Timed Practice: Andrea remarkably improved his performance as he finished in P8, while Alberto did well too, as he finished the session in P6.
In the MX2 Qualifying Race Adamo was out of the “top 10” after the start, but the Sicilian rider used the 13-laps-long race to recover and move up to P8. In MXGP Alberto started out of the “top 10” too, but he managed to recover and gain the final 10th place.
On Sunday the track surface was milled and abundantly soaked when the MX2 riders went on it for Race 1. Andrea made a decent start and he positioned 10th. During the first laps the Sicilian rider gained time from his opponents, but when 4 laps were completed, his recovery was stopped in 8th place, placement that he had until the checkered flag. In Race 2 Adamo was in the group in the back as he avoided a lot of riders that crashed, but a sensational lap 1 gave him the 11th position at the end of the lap. In the following laps the Sicilian continued his recovery until he gained P6. During the second half of the race his careful riding allowed him to maintain the position until the end. Thanks to the results that he obtained, Andrea ranked 7th Overall and he gained one position in the General Classification, as he is now 6th.
Alberto’s Race 1 was quite similar to his teammates’. After a discrete start, during which he positioned in the “top 10”, the rider from Veneto conducted a regular paced race, and, as a result of the overtooks that he made and the overtooks that he suffered he finished in 7th place. At Race 2’s start Alberto was forced to recover to the top places from P14, as he did not make a perfect start. As a result of the worse surface conditions, with more hard and insidious ruts, the rider from Veneto was not able to make up places as he did in the previous race, so at the end Forato classified in P12. His results allowed him to finish the day in P10 Overall and he kept the 11th position in the General Classification.
With no weekends of stop, the FIM Motocross World Championship will now move to the French circuit at Erneè, where, on the first weekend of June, the GP of France will take place for the 10th round of the season.
