Il tracciato di Lacapelle-Marival ospita il GP di Francia. Nel Campionato EMX250, una caduta in gara 1 complica il weekend di Horgmo, che chiude sesto di giornata. Prestazioni in crescendo per Adamo nella MX2; Forato, autore di una solida gara, centra ‘top 10’ della MXGP.

Per il dodicesimo appuntamento stagionale, la carovana del mondiale motocross si sposta in Francia, sul tracciato di Lacapelle-Marival, tracciato dal fondo duro che debutta nel mondiale motocross. Al sabato, scendono in pista anche i ragazzi del Campionato EMX250 per disputare il sesto round in calendario.
Nell’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery, il primo pilota a saggiare il tracciato e il norvegese Kevin Horgmo #24.
Nelle prove libere, Kevin si classifica 10° mentre nelle cronometrate, riesce ad essere più veloce e centra il 6° tempo. La prima manche per il norvegese della GasGas, inizia nel migliore dei modi con un ‘holeshot’ che gli consegna subito il comando della corsa. Il momento positivo però dura appena mezzo giro; in uscita di curva Kevin scivola in fase di accelerazione e cede numerose posizioni. Prontamente risalito in moto, Kevin si ritrova 7° in classifica per poi stabilizzarsi definitivamente e completare la corsa in 6a piazza.
Nella seconda manche, Kevin non riesce a ripetersi in partenza ma si posiziona comunque all’interno della ‘top 10, precisamente in 5a posizione. Come per la precedente frazione, Horgmo non riesce ad essere incisivo nella sua rimonta ed è costretto a difendersi dagli attacchi dei piloti che sopraggiungono conquistando un sofferto 6° posto. A fine giornata si ritrova 6° assoluto mentre in classifica generale, rimane stabile in 2a posizione.
La domenica, è il turno di Andrea Adamo #80 (MX2) e Alberto Forato #303 (MXGP).
Andrea Adamo #80
Nelle libere e cronometrate della MX2, Andrea si dimostra subito a suo agio sul duro tracciato francese e dopo un iniziale 10° tempo, si qualifica 16°.
Nella prima manche, Andrea non riesce a trovare un varco dopo la prima curva e al termine della prima tornata transita 17°. Su un tracciato stretto e con poche possibilità di sorpasso, il siciliano recupera solo 4 posizioni e chiude 13°. Nella seconda manche, Andrea migliora sensibilmente il suo spunto in partenza e si ritrova 13° al termine della prima tornata. Nell’arco dei diciannove giri di gara, il pilota GasGas riesce a risalire sino alla 10a piazza ma poi cala leggermente il ritmo e chiude 12°. A fine giornata, la classifica assoluta lo vede conquistare il 12° posto; in classifica generale rimane stabile in 16a piazza.
Alberto Forato #303
Le sessioni del mattino della MXGP vedono Forato autore di buone prestazioni. Nelle libere il veneto si classifica 11° e nelle seguenti cronometrate, chiude 14°. In gara 1, Alberto centra una buona partenza e subito si porta a ridosso della ‘top 10’ centrando la 12a posizione. A pochi giri dal termine, favorito da alcune cadute di avversari che lo precedono, Forato agguanta la 10a posizione e la conserva sino al traguardo. In gara 2 Alberto parte nuovamente bene ed è subito 11°. Su una pista insidiosa e molto scavata, Forato non commette errori e sul traguardo del diciannovesimo giro, chiude 12°. Dal computo delle manche, si classifica 9° e per la seconda volta in questa stagione, centra la ‘top 10’. In classifica di campionato, guadagna una posizione e si ritrova 17°.
Dalla Francia il FIM Motocross World Championship si sposterà direttamente in Spagna dove sul tracciato di intu Xanadù – Arroyomolinos, nel weekend del 16 e 17 Ottobre, si terrà il tredicesimo round. Il Campionato EMX250 andrà invece in pausa per poco più di due settimane, per poi tornare nelle date del 27 e 31 Ottobre con due round ravvicinati, di cui uno infrasettimanale, sul tracciato italiano di Pietramurata, in Trentino.
Kevin Horgmo #24: “Due sesti posti mi hanno consegnato il 6° di giornata totali oggi nel Campionato Europeo in Francia, non è stato il miglior giorno per me… Sono caduto dopo aver preso il comando in gara 1 e ho faticato a guidare per il resto della giornata, quindi devo considerarmi ‘felice’ con un 6° posto in una brutta giornata. Ora ci concentreremo in vista del prossimo fine settimana con il mondiale in Spagna.”
Alberto Forato #303: “E’ stata una bella gara con una buona partenza in gara 1 dove ho concluso 10° nonostante una piccola scivolata e una buona partenza anche in gara 2, dove ho concluso 11°. A fine giornata mi sono ritrovato 9° assoluto a pari punti con l’8°. Sono contento del risultato e continuo a lavorare in vista del prossimo GP in Spagna.”
Andrea Adamo #80: “E’ stata una buona gara tutto sommato, peccato per le partenze nelle retrovie. Se fossi partito davanti, il risultato sarebbe potuto essere migliore. Molto contento della mia prestazione nella seconda manche! Ci vediamo in Spagna”

Lacapelle/Marival circuit hosted the GP of France. In the EMX250 Championship, a crash during Race 1 complicated the weekend of Horgmo, who finished P6 Overall. Improving performance for Adamo in the MX2, while Forato made a solid race as he entered in the ‘Top 10’ of the MXGP.
For Round 12 of the season, the Motocross World Championship circus moved to France, at Lacapelle-Marival circuit, a track that has a hard surface and that debuted in the World Championship this year. On Saturday, the EMX250 Championship went on track for its Round 6 of the calendar.
SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery deployed the Norwegian Kevin Horgmo #24 as its first rider to try this new circuit.
In Free Practice Kevin classified P10, while in Timed Practice he improved his speed and he finished in P6. Race 1 for the GasGas Norwegian started in the best way possible, as he made the ‘Holeshot’ and took the lead straight away. The positive moment, though, lasted half a lap only; after a turn Kevin lost his rear and slipped, losing many positions. Kevin quickly jumped back on the bike, in P7, and he then stabilized and finish the race in P6. In Race 2 Kevin did not repeat his previous start but he gained a place in the ‘Top 10’, precisely in P5. As well as Race 1 Horgmo was not able to make the difference and he was forced to defend from the attacks of his rivals. He then finished in P6 after a lot of struggles. At the end of the day he ranked P6 Overall while he is still in P2 in the General Classification.
On Sunday Andrea Adamo #80 (MX2) and Alberto Forato (MXGP) had their time on track.
In Free and Timed Practice of MX2 Andrea showed confidence on the track surface, and after the P10 of Free Practice he qualified P16. In Race 1 Andrea was not able to find his way through the field and at the end of lap 1 he passed in P17. The Sicilian could not make up many places as the circuit is narrow and offers a few chances to overtake and he finished in P13. In Race 2 Andrea had a better start, as he was in P13 after lap 1. During the 19 laps of the race the GasGas rider managed to move up to P10, but then he slowed down a little and he finished in P12. At the end of the day he ranked P12 Overall while he is still stable in P16 in the General Classification.
In the MXGP morning sessions Forato made good performances. He finished in P11 in Free Practice and in P14 in the following Timed Practice. In Race 1 Alberto made a good start and he was just out of the ‘Top 10’, in P12. When there were a few laps to go Forato took advantage of a few crashes made by the riders in ahead of him and he gained P10, a position that he kept until the checkered flag. In Race 2 Alberto had another good start and he gained P11 straight away. The track surface was insidious and and a lot rutted, but Forato was able to avoid mistakes and at the finish line he was in P12. At the end of the day he ranked P9 Overall and for the second time in the season he entered in the ‘Top 10’. He also gained one position in the General Classification and he is now in P17.
FIM Motocross World Champiosnhip will immediately move from France to Spain, at Intu Xanadu Arryomolinos ciruit, as it will host the 13th round of the Championship in the weekend of the 16th and the 17th of October. The EMX250 Championship will instead stop for a couple of weeks and it will be back on the 27th and the 31st of October (with a midweek round) at Pietramurata circuit in Trentino region, Italy.
Kevin Horgmo #24: “I finished P6 in the races and in the Overall Classification of the European Championship here in France, and it wasn’t the best day for me…I crashed after that I took the lead of Race 1 and I struggled to ride for the rest of the day, so I have to consider myself happy with the P6 Overall gained in a bad day. We will now concentrate for the next round of the World Championship which will take place in Spain on the next weekend”.
Alberto Forato # 303: “It was a good race with a good start in race 1 where I finished 10th despite a small crash and a good start also in race 2, where I finished 11th. At the end of the day I found myself 9th overall on equal points with 8th. I am happy with the result and continue to work towards the next GP in Spain. ”
Andrea Adamo # 80: “It was a good race all in all, too bad for the starts in the back. If I had started from the front, the result could have been better. Very happy with my performance in the second heat! See you in Spain ”
