Il GP di Turchia di Afyonkarahisar manda in archivio la stagione 2022 del mondiale motocross. I risultati ottenuti da Adamo e Forato, confermano una stagione decisamente positiva per l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery. Entrambi i piloti centrano la ‘top 10’ di giornata. In classifica generale, Andrea chiude ottavo della MX2, Alberto undicesimo della MXGP.

Con il GP della Turchia sul tracciato di Afyonkarahisar, il FIM Motocross World Championship giunge al termine dopo aver disputato diciotto prove lungo l’arco di tutta la stagione 2022 e per l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery, rappresentato dai suoi due alfieri Andrea Adamo #80 (MX2) e Alberto Forato #303 (MXGP), la stagione si chiude in maniera decisamente positiva.
Già dalle prove libere i due ragazzi si dimostrano molto veloci: Andrea fa segnare il 6° tempo mentre Alberto risulta il più veloce. Nelle seguenti cronometrate, i due si classificano rispettivamente 10° e 7°. La manche di qualifica del sabato, utile a definire lo schieramento di partenza nelle due frazioni della domenica, vede Adamo autore di una solida prestazione che lo accredita dell’8° posto finale; Alberto chiude 11° senza forzare oltre il dovuto.
Domenica, i ragazzi si rendono autori di due solide prestazioni. In MX2, Andrea centra due buone partenze che lo collocano subito all’interno della ‘top 10’ e con un buon ritmo, termina le manche ottenendo un 8° ed un 7° posto che gli valgono il 7° posto di giornata. In classifica generale, la stagione di Andrea si chiude così’ un 8° posto, confermandosi di fatto nella ‘top 10’ della classe MX2 e il migliore dei piloti italiani nella quarto di litro.
Nella classe MXGP, le partenze di Alberto non sono da ‘top 10’ ma il veneto si prodiga in due rimonte eccellenti che a fine giornata gli consegnano un 5° ed un 7° posto, nonostante una caduta in gara 2 a seguito di un contatto. Con il 7° posto di giornata, Forato si conferma ancora una volta il più forte italiano in pista nella classe regina e il miglior pilota in sella ad una moto non ufficiale. In classifica generale, la sua stagione si chiude con un 11° posto, ma sul risultato finale pesano le tre assenze nel GP di Francia, di Germania e di Indonesia a causa dell’infortunio al perone. Con i punteggi di quelle sei manche non disputate, anche Alberto avrebbe confermato la sua presenza nella ‘top 10’.
Terminato il FIM Motocross World Championship, l’ultimo impegno per l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery è fissato per il weekend del 24 e 25 settembre dove sul tracciato americano di RedBud, si terrà l’edizione 2022 del Motocross delle Nazioni e Andrea Adamo, farà parte del Team Italia nella classe MX2.
Andrea Adamo #80: “E’ stata una gara abbastanza solida. Ho faticato a trovare il mio ritmo nella prima manche ma poi nella seconda mi sono migliorato ed ho chiuso 7° di giornata. La mia stagione in MX2, si chiude così con un 8° posto classifica generale. Peccato per il piccolo infortunio al ginocchio, senza di quello avrei potuto ottenere un risultato migliore. Adesso mi riposerò un poco e poi mi preparerò per andare in America, dove si correrà l’ MXoN.”
Alberto Forato #80: “Questo ultimo appuntamento del mondiale, è stato un bel fine settimana. Sabato mattina sono stato subito veloce con il 1° tempo mentre nelle qualifiche non ho trovato un buon giro ed ho chiuso 7°. Nella manche di qualifica invece ho chiuso più indietro classificandosi 11°. Nella prima manche della domenica sono partito a metà gruppo ed ho recuperato sino al 5° posto; nella seconda manche mi sono ripetuto in partenza ma a causa di un contatto con un altro pilota sono caduto ed non sono andato oltre il 7° posto. Tutto sommato è andata bene con un 11° posto di giornata e sia oggi che in campionato, sono il 1° di tutti i piloti i piloti in sella a moto non ufficiali.”

The GP of Turkey at Afyonkarahisar closed the 2022 World Motocross Championship season. The results gained by Adamo and Forato confirm a clearly positive season for Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery. Both riders entered in the “top 10” Overall. In the General Classification Andrea finished 8th in the MX2, while Alberto finished 11th in the MXGP.
FIM Motocross World Championship ended with the GP of Turkey at Afyonkarahisar circuit, after the eighteen rounds that were scheduled for the 2022 season. SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery , who deployed Andrea Adamo #80 (MX2) and Alberto Forato #303 (MXGP), finished the season in a very positive way.
Since Free Practice already, the riders showed some good speed: Andrea was in P6 while Alberto was the fastest rider on track. In the following Timed Practice they finished 10th and 7th respectively. On Saturday, at the Qualifying Race (which would determine the starting grid for Sunday’s races), Adamo had a solid performance and finished in P8, while Alberto closed in P11 without forcing more than necessary.
On Sunday, both riders made another two solid performances. In the MX2 Andrea made two good starts that located him in the “top 10” straight away, and while he kept a good pace, he managed to finish the races in 8th and 7th position, which gave him P7 OVerall. In the General Classification Andrea ended in 8th position, confirming himself in the “top 10” of the MX2 class and the best italian rider of the quarter-of-liter class.
In the MXGP Alberto did not make good starts, as he was quickly out of the “top 10”, but the rider from Veneto made two excellent comebacks that gave him the 5th and the 7th place in the races, despite a crash in Race 2. With a P7 Overall, Forato confirmed himself to be the best italian rider of the Top Class and the best rider without a factory team. In the General Classification his season ended with the 11th place, but the final result is ruined by three absences in a row happened in the Gp of France, of Germany and of Indonesia, due to his fibula injury. With possible points gained in these six races that he did not attend, Forato could have confirmed his presence in the “top 10”.
Now that the FIM Motocross World Championship has finished, the last appointment of the season for SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery will be on the 24th and the 25th of September, when the 2022 Motocross of Nations will take place at the American circuit of RedBud, and Andrea Adamo will represent Team Italy in the MX2.
Andrea Adamo #80: “It was a quite solid race. I struggled to find my pace in Race 1 but in Race 2 I improved and I managed to finish 7th Overall. My season in MX2 ended with the final 8th place in the General Classification. It’s a shame for my small knee injury, without that I could have made a better result. I will now rest a little and then I will start preparing to go to America, where the MXoN will take place”.
Alberto Forato #80: “The last appointment of the World Championship was good. On Saturday morning I was fast straight away as I finished 1st in Free Practice, but in Timed Practice I couldn’t make a good lap and I finished in P7. In the Qualifying Race I finished even more in the back, in 11th position. In Race 1 I then started in the midfield and I recovered until the 5th position; in Race 2 I had the same start again but due to a contact with another rider I fell off and I couldn’t make it better than P7. After all it was good with the 11th place Overall and a P11 in the Championship, I finished 1st within all the riders that don’t have a factory team”.
