In quel di Mantova, secondo round del tricolore, ancora un podio per l’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery con Horgmo secondo assoluto nella MX2. Prestazioni in crescendo anche per Adamo, quarto assoluto.

Per il secondo round del Campionato Italiano MX Prestige, team e piloti si sono ritrovati presso il tracciato internazionale ‘Città di Mantova’, situato nella periferia della storica città lombarda.
Un weekend di sole e con temperature particolarmente alte, ha accompagnato l’evento in entrambe le giornate. Il tracciato, come sempre preparato nel migliore dei modi dagli organizzatori, ha garantito spettacolo in tutte le manche disputate anche se nelle ultime gare della domenica, si è segnato profondamente divenendo difficile e molto selettivo.
Andrea Adamo #80
L’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery era presente all’evento solo con i suoi due piloti MX2 Andrea Adamo #80 e Kevin Horgmo #2. Alberto Forato #303, reduce da una piccola contusione al ginocchio rimediata in allenamento, ha preferito saltare l’evento in accordo con il team per permettere al ginocchio di guarire velocemente.

Nelle consuete sessioni di libere e cronometrate del sabato, i due ragazzi della MX2 si dimostrano subito molto veloci: suddivisi in tre gruppi, il norvegese Horgmo conquista il 1° posto del gruppo 2 mentre nel gruppo 3, Adamo è 2° dietro l’autore della Pole Position. Sullo schieramento di partenza, Kevin conquista così il 3° cancelletto di partenza, Andrea il 5°.
La domenica, in tarda mattinata, i piloti si allineano per disputare gara 1. I due ragazzi dell’SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery centrano un’ottima partenza. Horgmo prende subito il comando della corsa mentre Andrea, leggermente più arretrato occupa la 7a piazza. Prima della fine del primo giro, Kevin cede una posizione ma da quel momento in poi guida in maniera regolare e senza commettere errori su un tracciato sempre più impegnativo. Andrea invece, giro dopo giro, da vita ad una solida rimonta che sul ‘finish line’ del settimo passaggio, lo vede risalire sino in 3a posizione. Da quel momento in poi la gara scorre regolare per i due alfieri del team emiliano e sotto la bandiera a scacchi, Horgmo e Adamo si classificano rispettivamente 2° e 3°.
Nel primo pomeriggio, i piloti prendono il via di gara 2. Ancora una volta Kevin azzecca una partenza quasi perfetta, fa subito sua la 3a piazza e riesce a tenerla sino sotto la bandiera a scacchi. Andrea parte leggermente più arretrato e dopo la prima tornata è 8°. Come nella precedente frazione, Adamo recupera subito alcune posizioni ma la pista molto segnata e qualche piccola sbavatura non permette al siciliano di bissare il risultato della prima manche. Sul traguardo del sedicesimo giro, Andrea conquista il 4° posto. A fine giornata, la classifica vede Kevin conquistare il secondo podio consecutivo con un altro 2° posto assoluto, dopo quello conquistato a Maggiora. Andrea Adamo migliora di molto il suo rendimento in gara e si classifica 4°. In classifica di campionato, Kevin Horgmo è attualmente 2°; Andrea Adamo è 4°.
Il terzo appuntamento stagionale con il Campionato Italiano MX Prestige, è previsto per il weekend dell’8 e 9 Maggio sul tracciato toscano di Montevarchi, in provincia di Arezzo.
Andrea Adamo #80: “E’ stata una buona gara. Ho avuto un buon ritmo, purtroppo ho avuto un piccolo calo a metà manche ed è su quello che dovremo lavorare, ma tutto sommato siamo contenti per il risultato. La cosa importante e partire bene perché con il motocross moderno, se non parti davanti è molto difficile recuperare. Adesso ci prepareremo per Montevarchi.”

At Mantua, for the second round of the Italian Championship, SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery conquered again a podium with Horgmo, who finished 2nd overall in MX2. Performance is improving for Adamo too, who finished 4th overall.
Teams and riders went to the international circuit of “Città di Mantova”, which is located just outside of the historycal city of Lombardy, for the second round of the Italian MX Prestige Championship.
Sunny weather and particularly warm temperatures partnered the event in both days. The circuit, which was as always well prepared by the organizers, granted a good show in all the races, even though it was deeply rutted by Sunday and it became difficult and selective.
SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery deployed only two riders in MX2, Andrea Adamo #80 and Kevin Horgmo #2. Alberto Forato #303, who suffered a little bruise at his knee during training, prefered to avoid the appointment, in accordance with the team, to allow his knee to recover well and quickly.
The riders in MX2 showed good speed straight away in Free and Timed Practice. They were divided in three groups, and the Norwegian Horgmo gained the 1st place in group 2, while Adamo classified 2nd in group 3 just behind the author of the Pole Position. At the starting gate, then, Kevin went in 3rd position while Andrea was in 5th.
On Sunday in the late morning, all the riders lined up for Race 1. SM Action GasGas Racing Team Yuasa Battery riders made an excellent start. Horgmo took the lead of the race while Andrea, a little bit behind, occupied the 7th place. Before the end of lap 1 Kevin gave up his position, but since then he rode his bike with a regular pace and he did not make any mistakes on a track that was becoming more and more challenging. Andrea, instead, lap by lap, made a solid comeback, as he moved up from the 3rd place before lap 7 and he kept it until the checkered flag. The riders had a normal race until the end, so Horgmo classified 2nd and Adamo 3rd.
In the afternoon, the riders took part to Race 2. Once again Kevin made a perfect start and he moved up to 3rd place, keeping it until the end of the race. Andrea started a little bit further back and after lap 1 he was 8th. As it happened in Race 1, Adamo moved up some places straight away, but the surface of the circuit was very rutted and some little mistakes did not allow him to repeat the result of Race 1. At the checkered flag, Andrea was in 4th position. At the end of the day Kevin gained his second consecutive podium, with his 2nd place Overall, repeating the result of Maggiora. Andrea Adamo improved a lot his race performance and he finished 4th Overall. In the General Classification, Kevin Horgmo is 2nd while Andrea Adamo is 4th.
The third appointment of the Italian MX Prestige Championship is scheduled on the weekend of the 8th and the 9th of May, on the circuit of Montevarchi, in the province of Arezzo.
Andrea Adamo # 80: “It was a good race. I had a good pace, unfortunately I had a small drop in the middle of the heat and that is what we will have to work on, but all in all we are happy with the result. The important thing is to start well because with modern motocross, if you don’t start from the front it is very difficult to recover. Now we will prepare for Montevarchi. ”
