Seconda tappa del Mondiale Motocross in Olanda a Valkenswaard, su una delle piste più impegnative del Campionato. Protagonista di questa gara è stato ancora il mal tempo e le piogge dei giorni precedenti che hanno reso ancor più pesante e difficile il sabbioso terreno Olandese.
Nella MX2 purtroppo niente punti per Ruben Fernandez #70 che, dopo aver dimostrato confidenza con il fango nella giornata di Sabato con un quindicesimo tempo nella batteria di qualificazione, è stato costretto a ritirarsi durante la manche di qualificazione a causa di una caduta che gli ha procurato una lussazione della spalla sinistra. Dopo pochi giri dal via di gara uno Ruben è stato costretto al ritiro per il dolore alla spalla e non ha preso parte alla seconda gara.

Nella MXGP sorprendente Michele Cervellin #747 che, con una diciassettesima posizione nella gara di qualificazione, non ha un buon cancelletto ma riesce comunque a spuntare un’ottima partenza che lo fa transitare in settima posizione al primo giro insieme ai migliori della classe regina, Michele dimostra un buon feeling sulla sabbia e resta nella top ten per quasi tutta la gara chiudendo sul finale con un ottimo dodicesimo posto. Giù il cancello di gara due e ancora un ottimo avvio per Michele che schiva alcuni piloti caduti alla prima curva e ancora una volta transita nella top ten in ottava posizione, posizione che sembra poter tenere per tutta la gara ma purtroppo un guasto meccanico causato dai profondi canali e terreno fangoso hanno tolto a Michele la soddisfazione della prima gara MXGP chiusa nelle prime dieci posizioni.
Comunque un’ottima prestazione per Michele che al suo primo anno in MXGP dimostra di non aver nulla da temere dai suoi avversari con maggior esperienza.
L’Olanda doveva essere anche il debutto nel campionato Europeo per Raffaele Giuzio #220, purtroppo per lui una caduta in allenamento dei giorni precedenti gli ha causato un trauma cranico che gli ha impedito di poter prendere il via alla gara. Peccato per questa prova saltata ma Raffaele avrà sicuramente modo di poter dimostrare la propria velocità nella prossima gara.

Second round of the Motocross World Championship in Holland in Valkenswaard, on one of the most hard tracks in the Championship. The protagonist of this race was still the bad weather and the rains of the previous days that made the sandy Dutch soil even heavier and more difficult.
In MX2 unfortunately no points for Ruben Fernandez #70 who, after showing confidence with the mud on Saturday with a fifteenth time in the qualifying race, was forced to retire due to a fall that caused him a dislocation of the left shoulder. A few laps from the start of the race one Ruben was forced to retire due to shoulder pain and did not take part in the second one.
In the MXGP class, a surprising Michele Cervellin #747 who, with a seventeenth position in the qualifying race, does not have a good gate but still manages to pick up an excellent start that makes him pass in seventh position on the first lap together with the best of the premier class, Michele shows a good feeling on the sand and remains in the top ten for almost the whole race, finishing at the end with an excellent twelfth place. Down the gate of race two and still an excellent start for Michele who dodges some riders who fell at the first corner and once again passing through the top ten in eighth position, a position he seems to be able to hold throughout the race but unfortunately a mechanical failure caused by the deep canals and muddy ground took away for Michele the satisfaction of the first MXGP race closed in the top ten positions.
However an excellent performance for Michele who in his first year in MXGP proves to have nothing to fear from his rivals with more experience.
Holland was also to be the debut in the European championship for Raffaele Giuzio #220, unfortunately for him a fall during a training in the previous days caused him an head injury that impeded him from being able to start the race. What a shame for this race skipped but Raffaele will surely have the opportunity to prove his speed in the next race.
