Sull’ostico tracciato belga di Lommel, nella MX2 Maxime Renaux ad un passo dalla ‘Top 5’. Nell’EMX250, weekend poco fortunato per Andrea Adamo.
Il celebre impianto belga di Lommel ha ospitato nel fine settimana il 14esimo appuntamento iridato della stagione. Maxime Renaux si è riproposto nelle zone alte della classifica, mentre Andrea Adamo non è riuscito a conquistare punti.
Prestazioni positiva per Maxime Renaux: dopo la prova opaca messa in mostra in Repubblica Ceca, il francese si è prontamente riproposto tra i migliori nella MX2. Il fine settimana è iniziato con l’11esima piazza conquistata nella heat di qualifica, al termine di una prova concreta. Nella manche d’apertura è scattato con prontezza, installandosi subito nelle prime dieci posizioni e concludendo al sesto posto finale. Andamento analogo a Gara 2, che lo ha visto uscire bene dai blocchi di partenza.
Il buon avvio lo ha collocato subito nel gruppo dei migliori, permettendogli di terminare settimo. Grazie alle due buone prove svolte, il rappresentante del team SM Action ha ottenuto il sesto posto nell’assoluta, guadagnando l’ottava piazza in campionato.
Al rientro in gara dopo l’infortunio riscontrato nel corso del GP d’Indonesia, Andrea Adamo ha cercato di produrre la migliore performance possibile, ma non è riuscito a smuovere la classifica. Dopo aver fatto segnare il 15esimo tempo nel Gruppo 2 di qualifica, in Gara 1 ha avuto un avvio infelice che lo ha costretto a dare fondo a tutte le energie nel tentativo di recuperare quante più posizioni possibili. Nonostante la buona rimonta realizzata, è giunto appena fuori dalla zona punti.
Nella manche conclusiva ha tentato di riscattarsi, ma a causa di una caduta patita nel corso delle prime battute della heat, è stato costretto a prendere anzitempo la via dei box. Nonostante questa battuta a vuoto, il pilota azzurro è rimasto a contatto con la top 20 nella classifica generale.
Il Mondiale riprenderà tra due settimane ad Imola, dove si disputerà il GP d’Italia, valido come 15esimo appuntamento iridato. Il Campionato Europeo 250, invece, andrà in scena per l’ultima volta in stagione ad Uddevalla (Svezia) il prossimo 24 agosto.
Adamo al rientro dopo l’infortunio non ha sfigurato

At the tough circuit of Lommel, in the MX2 class Maxime Renaux just touched the ‘Top 5’. In the EMX250 Championship, unluchy weekend for Andrea Adamo.
The famous circuit of Lommel hosted the 14th round of the season last weekend. Maxime Renaux was once again in the top positions of the classification, while Andrea Adamo did not manage to gain any points.
Positive performance for Maxime Renaux: after the bittery weekend that he had in Czech Republic, the French rapidly put himself again with the best riders of the MX2. His weekend started with the 11th place in Qualifying Race, which he completed in a concrete way. In Race 1 he started well and he gained straight away a position in the Top 10; at the end of the race he was 6th. In Race 2 he went out well from the starting gate too, as he was again in the group of the top riders, and he finished 7th. Thanks to those two good races, the Team SM Action rider finished 6th in the daily Overall Classification, and he conquered the 8th position in the General Classification of the Championship.
After that he suffered an injury at the GP of Indonesia, Andrea Adamo had his comeback to the race and he tried his best to make a good performance, but he was not able to move places in the classification. After that he made the 15th fastest lap time in Qualifying Group 2, in Race 1 a bad start forced him to make an extra effort to move up as many positions as possible. Despite of the good recovery, he did not make it to the points area, as he finished just out of the Top 20. In Race 2 he tried to redeem, but due to a crash that he had at the beginning of the race, he was forced to retire. Despite of this bad weekend, the Italian rider is still quite close to the Top 20 in the General Classification of the Championship.
The World Championship will resume in two weeks’ time at Imola, where the GP of Italy will take place for the 15th round of the season. The 250 European Championship, instead, will be hosted at Uddevalla (Sweden) for the last round of the season on the 24th of August.
