IN ATTESA DELLA MXGP, AL VIA DALLA GRAN BRETAGNA, LA PRE-SEASON EUROPEA DEBUTTA ANCORA IN SARDEGNA IL 26 GENNAIO.
Start Time – Come tradizione la prima gara dell’anno compete al Supercross Americano, la cui stagione è già partita il 4 gennaio scorso in California. In Europa il primo start per il Motocross compete ormai da anni agli Internazionali d’Italia.
Sarà ancora la Sardegna e ancora la pista di Riola Sardo, il 26 gennaio, a dare il via a quello che viene considerato un must per chi vuole arrivare alla prima iridata pronto a dare il meglio di se. La Serie, ancora titolata EICMA, è composta da tre gare consecutive, e dopo aver disputato l’avvio sulla sponda occidentale dell’Isola approda in continente per il secondo e terzo Round, entrambi in Lombardia: il 2 febbraio ad Ottobiano (PV) e il 9 febbraio a Mantova.
As tradition, the first race of the year belongs to the American Supercross, whose season has already started last January 4 in California, with Anaheim1. In Europe, the first time that the gates drops for the Motocross riders has been for years an affair of the Internazionali d’Italia and it will still be like that with the first race of the year hosted in Sardinia on the Riola Sardo track, on January 26. Le tre prove, che precedono di poche settimane l’inizio della MXGP, sono ormai ritenute utili, se non necessarie, per affrontare oggettivamente preparati l’intera stagione dei Gran Premi. L’inizio è devastante, la sabbia di Riola si muove disarmonicamente ad ogni passaggio, e dopo pochi giri il circuito prende forme infernali, derivanti dalla dissimile azione che la frenata o la diversa velocità di trazione delle moto esercitano sul fondo.
Il risultato è un susseguirsi di whoops naturalmente irregolari, di wave di varia conformazione e di canali profondissimi disseminati in punti differenti, laddove per andare veloci bisogna essere davvero bravi a non sprofondare, anzi, è necessario saper “galleggiare” come quasi solo Tony Cairoli (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) ha saputo fare negli ultimi anni.
The three rounds, will precede the start of the MXGP by a few weeks, are now considered useful, if not necessary, to face the entire Grand Prix season well prepared. The start is devastating, the Riola sand after a few laps takes hellish shapes, resulting from the dissimilar action of braking and acceleration of the bikes.
The result is a succession of naturally irregular whoops, waves and very deep roots scattered in different points, where to go fast you have to be really good at not sinking, indeed, you need to know how to “surf” like almost only Tony Cairoli ( Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) has been able to do in recent years.
Così si spiega anche lo stuolo di tecnici giapponesi presenti al seguito del Team HRC di Giacomo Gariboldi, intenti a far stressare in condizioni davvero uniche le “nuove” Honda Factory da Tim Gajser e Mitchell Evans, e quelle del team 114 Motorsports degli australiani esordienti Bailey Malkiewicz e Nathan Crawford, gestite da Livia Lancelot nella MX2, che faranno il loro debutto in gara proprio sulla sabbia sarda.

Il team Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP, schiererà Gautier Paulin e Jeremy Seewer in sella alle potenti 450 supervisionate direttamente dai tecnici di Rinaldi per conto della casa dei tre diapason. Debutto in Sardegna per il team Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team con Clement Desalle (che non ha mai corso in Sardegna) e con il sempre presente Romain Febvre, che però esordirà sulla “verdona” cambiando per la prima volta il numero da quando corre nel mondiale, passando dal 461 al 3 (lo stesso di Tomac, ndr). Non mancherà al confronto il Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing con Arminas Jasikonis e Pauls Jonass.
The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team will field Gautier Paulin and Jeremy Seewer riding the powerful 450F, supervised directly by Rinaldi’s technicians on behalf of Yamaha. Also the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team will debut in Sardinia, with Clement Desalle (who has never raced in Sardinia) and with the ever-present Romain Febvre, who however will debut on the green machine changing the number for the first time since he ride in the world series, going from 461 to 3 (the same as Tomac). And, of course, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing that runs with Arminias Jasikonis and Paul Jonass will not miss the challenge.
