Sul tracciato di Loket, il francese Maxime Renaux termina nella ‘top 15’ della classe MX2.
Complici le defezioni di Michele Cervellin e Andrea Adamo, ancora out a causa di problemi fisici, Maxime Renaux è stato l’unico pilota del team SM Action Yamaha in gara questo weekend. Dopo due convincenti performance messe in mostra nella doppia trasferta indonesiana, in questa circostanza il francese non è riuscito a ripetersi. Nonostante tutto, è stato comunque in grado di incamerare punti importanti in ottica campionato.
Per il giovane transalpino il weekend è inizialmente partito bene, grazie al terzo tempo registrato nel corso delle prove cronometrate. La heat di qualifica, invece, si è rivelata poco fortunata, complice un ritiro che lo ha costretto a scegliere una non ottimale posizione al cancelletto. In Gara 1 ha provato subito a riscattarsi, uscendo discretamente dai blocchi di partenza e mantenendo con costanza la zona punti, concludendo 15esimo.
Nella manche conclusiva ha avuto qualche difficoltà in più allo start, ma con caparbietà si è ben presto riportato nelle zone che contano. Nell’ultimo giro ha provato a sopravanzare Jed Beaton nell’intento di agguantare il nono posto, ma a causa di una caduta è retrocesso in 12esima piazza. Lo score di giornata lo ha visto agguantare il 14esimo piazzamento assoluto, risultato che gli ha permesso di difendere la ‘top 10’ nella classifica generale della MX2.
Il Campionato del mondo motocross continuerà nel prossimo fine settimana sul tracciato belga di Lommel, celebre da sempre per la sua temibile sabbia, dove andrà in scena il quattordicesimo round della stagione.

At Loket Circuit, Maxime Renaux finished in the ‘Top 15’ of the MX2.
As Michele Cervellin and Andrea Adamo are still out due to physical issues, Maxime Renaux was the only rider from Team SM Action Yamaha that took part to last weekend’s race. After that he made two convincing performances in the Indonesian back-to-back rounds, the French was not able to repeat what he had done before. Despite of that, he managed to gain some important points for the Championship.
The young rider started well the weekend, as he made the 3rd fastest lap time in Timed Practice. Qualifying Race, instead, brought some bad luck, as he had to retire and he was forced to choose a bad starting-gate position. In Race 1 he tried to redeem straight away: he went out of the gate quite well and he maintained himself in the points area for the whole race, finishing 15th.
In Race 2 he had some issues at the start but due to his willfulness he soon moved up to the top places. During the last lap he tried to overtake Jed Beaton for the 9th place but he fell off and he then finished 12th. At the end of the day he finished 14th in the Overall, and this result allowed him to well defend his position in the Top 10 of the MX2 World Championship General Classfication.
The FIM Motocross World Championship will continue next weekend at Lommel circuit (Belgium), which is famous since forever for its dangerous sand surface, where the 14th round of the season will take place.
