Non c’è pausa in questo mondiale 2021 dopo Loket si torna sui terreni morbidi ed è Lommel in Belgio ad ospitare il sesto appuntamento iridato, il circuito delle Fiandre è sicuramente il più impegnativo del mondiale a causa del fondo sabbioso molto particolare non per niente viene chiamata “inferno di sabbia”.

I piloti del team Beta SDM Corse nelle prove di qualificazione non sono riusciti a trovare il giusto feeling con la pista, ricordiamo che con le gare così ravvicinate per i riders e il team è difficile poter allenarsi con costanza, Jeremy Van Horebeek ha chiuso con il 25° tempo e Jimmy Clochet che è alla sua prima volta assoluta sulla pista di Lommel è 39°.
Al via di gara 1 Jeremy è riuscito ad avere una buona partenza che gli ha dato la possibilità di recuperare posizioni, Van Horebeek ha corso con la solita grinta e determinazione ed ha concluso in 16° posizione. Clochet dopo una caduta è stato costretto al ritiro.
La seconda manche ha visto un’ottima uscita dal cancello per Van Horebeek ed al primo giro ha recuperato 5 posizioni, purtroppo Jeremy nel corso dei primi giri sotto un salto ha trovato un pilota fermo e non ha potuto evitarlo cadendo, il forte pilota belga si è prontamente rialzato ma nel corso della gara a causa di un’altra caduta si è ritirato.
Prossimo appuntamento tra una settimana in Lettonia a Kegums.
Daniele Marchese Team Manager: “Giornata sfortunata per i nostri piloti, già dalle qualifiche hanno faticato a trovare il ritmo sul fondo sabbioso. Jeremy nella gara di casa voleva far bene ma purtroppo non ha trovato il feeling con la pista se in più aggiungiamo la pioggia e le due cadute di gara 2 hanno compromesso il suo risultato. Clochet si è dovuto ritirare in entrambe le manche. Gara da dimenticare ma stiamo già pensando alla prossima a Kegums per tornare sui nostri livelli.”

MXGP World Championship Round 6 Gp of Flanders
