Start Time – Ci siamo quasi, mancano solo cinque giorni alla prima gara di Motocross del 2020! A Riola Sardo (OR) fervono i preparativi per quello che sarà il primo dei tre appuntamenti con gli Internazionali d’Italia EICMA Series 2020.

 La tappa sarda è da anni ormai sotto i riflettori e tifosi, addetti ai lavori e media, cercheranno già da domenica di capire in quali condizioni si trovano i protagonisti della MXGP e della MX2 e quali saranno i valori in campo nella nuova stagione iridata.

We’re almost there, only five days to go before the first Motocross race of 2020! In Riola Sardo (OR) the preparations are underway for what will be the first of three appointments with the Internazionali d’Italia EICMA Series 2020. The Sardinian round has been under the spotlight for years now and fans, insiders and media, will already seek from Sunday to understand in what conditions the top riders of MXGP and MX2 are and what the values will be on the field in the new championship season.

Sulla finissima sabbia infernale di Riola si daranno battaglia come sempre alcuni tra i migliori piloti del mondo e le gare saranno una prelibata anteprima di quello che succederà tra poco più di un mese in Inghilterra. Il Campione del Mondo in carica della MXGP, Tim Gajser, che nel 2016 aveva scelto insieme al suo team ufficiale Honda HRC proprio la Sardegna per il suo esordio sulla 450 rossa, sarà la testa di serie numero uno della classe regina e una volta completati i test pre stagionali proverà ad aggiudicarsi la gara per la prima volta in carriera ma dovrà fare i conti con una concorrenza più che agguerrita. A dargli filo da torcere ci penseranno infatti i due piloti del team KRT Kawasaki, capitanati dall’inossidabile Clement Desalle, alla prima apparizione a Riola e dal suo nuovo compagno di squadra Romain Febvre, esordiente sulla moto verde e vincitore dell’edizione del 2016, corsa ad Alghero. Anche Paulin Gautier, unico pilota fino ad oggi ad essere riuscito a battere Tony Cairoli in una manche della MX1 a Riola, proverà, in sella alla Yamaha ufficiali del team Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP, a dire la sua, così come lo farà il suo compagno svizzero Jeremy Seewer. Entrambi scenderanno in pista per la prima volta da quando la squadra belga ha preso il testimone dal team Rinaldi, che continua comunque a seguire lo sviluppo delle moto blu. Saranno come sempre contraddistinte dalla tradizionale livrea bianca invece le Husqvarna ufficiali del team Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, in gara con Arminas Jasikonis e con il rookie of the year 2019 della MXGP, Pauls Jonass, già vincitore nel 2015 in MX2 e più volte sul podio. Entrambi i piloti provenienti dai paesi baltici sono specialisti dei terreni sabbiosi e c’è da scommettere che diranno la loro in sella alle moto del team del pilota di Formula 1 Kimi Raikkonen. Sarà Brian Bogers invece a difendere l’arancione KTM, in sella alla sua 450 SX-F del Marchetti Racing Team.

As always, some of the best riders of the world will fight on the fine infernal sand of Riola and the races will be a delicious preview of what will happen in just over a month in UK. The reigning World Champion of the MXGP, Tim Gajser, who in 2016 had chosen Sardinia together with his official Honda HRC team for his debut on the red 450, will be the number one of the premier class and once completed the pre-season tests, he will try to win the race for the first time in his career but he will have to deal with some of the best competitors. The two riders of the KRT Kawasaki team, Clement Desalle, at the first appearance in Riola and his new teammate Romain Febvre, debutant on the green bike and winner of the 2016 edition in Alghero, will give him a hard time. Even Paulin Gautier, the only rider who has managed to beat Tony Cairoli in an MX1 race in Riola, will try, with the Yamaha of the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team, to make a good race, just like his Swiss team mate Jeremy Seewer. Both will take to the track for the first time since the Belgian team took the place of the Rinaldi team, which continues to follow the development of the blue bikes. The official Husqvarna of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team, on the starting grid with Arminas Jasikonis and with the rookie of the year 2019 of the MXGP, Pauls Jonass, already winner in 2015 in MX2 and several times on the podium, will be as always been in the white livery. Both riders from the Baltic countries are specialists on the sandy soils and it is safe to say that they will have their say on the bikes owned by the Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen. Brian Bogers will instead defend the orange colors of KTM, riding his 450 SX-F for the Marchetti Racing Team.

Sempre in MX1 esordio sulla 450 per Michele Cervellin, che debutterà in sella alla YZF 450 del team SDM Corse, per Mitch Evans, passato quest’anno alla 450, al fianco di Gajser in HRC e per Ivo Monticelli che porterà in gara per la prima volta la GasGas ufficiale con la quale lui ed il suo compagno Glen Coldenhoff disputeranno la MXGP 2020. Nutrita la pattuglia degli azzurri anche in MX2, dove Mattia Guadagnini, Morgan Lesiardo e Joakin Furbetta, solo per citarne alcuni, dovranno difendersi dagli attacchi di Ben Watson, Jago Geerts e Maxime Renaux.

In MX1 debut on the 450 also for Michele Cervellin, who will debut riding the YZF 450 of the SDM Corse team, for Mitch Evans, who moved this year on the 450, alongside Gajser in HRC and for Ivo Monticelli who will be able to race for the first time with the official GasGas with which he and his partner Glen Coldenhoff will compete in the MXGP 2020. The Italian colors in MX2 are represented by Mattia Guadagnini, Morgan Lesiardo and Joakin Furbetta, just to name a few and they will have to deal with riders as Ben Watson, Jago Geerts and Maxime Renaux.

Appuntamento quindi il 26 Gennaio sul circuito “Le Dune” di Riola Sardo (OR) per scoprire chi sarà il protagonista dell’ottava edizione della gara sarda. Per chi non potrà seguire dal vivo i propri idoli in pista, il campionato sarà come sempre trasmesso in diretta streaming su www.offroadproracing.it (YouTube e FaceBook), mentre sono programmati servizi in post produzione su RAI SPORT, con tre highlights, ciascuno di 60’ in onda il giovedì sera.
